This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations are processed, the applicable fees, and the timeline for refund disbursement at The Holiday Today. Because we operate as an independent travel agent and intermediary, refund eligibility and amount are governed primarily by the airline's or supplier's fare rules.

Quick Summary: Most discounted/promotional airline tickets are non-refundable. Refunds, when permitted, are subject to airline fees plus our service fee. Refund processing typically takes 6–12 weeks from the date of cancellation.

2. How to Request a Cancellation

To request a cancellation:

  3. Our agent will check the fare rules and inform you of the applicable cancellation fees and refundable amount.
  4. Upon your written confirmation (via email), we will process the cancellation with the airline.

Cancellations cannot be processed via SMS, social media, or unconfirmed verbal communication.

3. Cancellation Fees

Cancellation fees are determined by two components:

a) Airline Cancellation Fee

Each airline has its own cancellation charge that depends on the fare class, route, and time of cancellation relative to departure. This fee is deducted from the refund amount.

b) Service Fee by The Holiday Today

We charge a non-refundable processing fee for handling the cancellation request. This fee covers our agent time, communication with the airline, and refund processing administration. The exact service fee will be disclosed before you confirm the cancellation.

4. Non-Refundable Bookings

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Promotional, discounted, and "Basic Economy" fares
  • Tickets where the airline's fare rules explicitly state "no refund"
  • "No-show" cases (passenger did not show up for the flight)
  • Partially used tickets where the outbound segment has been flown
  • Service fees, convenience fees, and travel insurance premiums

For non-refundable tickets, you may still be eligible for a future travel credit with the operating airline. Please contact us to check eligibility.

5. Refund Timelines

Once a cancellation is processed:

  • Airline approval: 2–4 weeks for the airline to approve and remit the refund to us.
  • Disbursement to your account: 5–10 business days after we receive the refund from the airline.
  • Total expected time: 6–12 weeks from the date of cancellation request.

Some airlines may take longer depending on the route, payment method, and internal processing times. We will keep you updated throughout the process.

6. Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for booking. If your credit/debit card has expired or been replaced, please contact your bank to confirm how the refund will be credited.

7. Schedule Changes & Airline-Initiated Cancellations

If the airline cancels your flight or significantly changes the schedule:

  • You may be offered a rebooking on an alternate flight at no additional cost.
  • You may request a full refund of the airline fare (excluding our service fee).
  • You may opt for a travel credit valid for future use, subject to airline terms.

We will assist you in coordinating with the airline. Please note that refund timelines remain at the airline's discretion.

8. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against trip cancellation, medical emergencies, baggage loss, and other unforeseen events. Travel insurance is often the best safeguard for non-refundable bookings.

9. Disputed Charges & Chargebacks

Supporting documentation (medical certificate, death certificate, deployment orders) is required. We will liaise with the airline on your behalf, but final decisions rest with the airline.

11. Group Bookings

Group bookings (10 or more passengers) are subject to specific group fare rules and may have different cancellation policies, deposit forfeitures, and timelines. These will be communicated at the time of the group booking agreement.
